looks good, DiRF. Perhaps the only thing I'd change are the wheels. Wire spoked wheel covers are needed.

Updated the image a little bit... Sorta "fixed" the grille, flipped the Buick logo so it's correct, and added "Roadmaster" lettering on the door, since I thought it looked damn good on Adambomb's photoshop.

If Buick is absolutely serious about bringing back a RWD top of the line model, sadly, it can't look like this. The average Buick buyer is 69, the oldest out of all companies out there. Needless to say, Buick's stratagy of people getting older and just buying their lackluster cars failed them. Baby boomers have proved with Buicks past horrible sales, that they dont want mediocre. I doubt Buick will use a name from their past to use on the new RWD sedan.

I dunno, as popular as the Roadmaster is with the "donking" crowd, a new one might have some younger buyers, depending on how they built and marketed.

Basically they need a car like the Chrysler 300...chromy and elegant enough to win over luxury car traditionalists, but with enough performance to win over the "sports sedan" crowd. Continuing their current trend of increased build quality and reliability wouldn't hurt, either.

Buick needs all the buyers that Lexus took away from them. Buick needs a coupe. Buick needs a car to compete with the IS. The ES = Lucerne. GS = new RWD car. The Lacrosse is about as bland as gold base model Camry. Buick needs a performance division.

Seriously, that car's cult following has finally elevated it to bona-fide classic status. A new one could be a success, but it would need to be:

1: Fast. This one is a given.
2: Really tough-looking. Part of the reason Buicks don't get much attention now is bland styling. They could not afford to overlook styling on a new GN.
3: RWD.
4: 2 door. Don't pull a Charger on us.
5: Structurally sound and detailed enough to win over car reviewers. Good press sells cars.

#9, Buick IS trying to attract people back to their cars, but I also think they're trying to attract a younger crowd that won't die off within the next 5 years. But I will agree that they need a coupe.

#10, It wont happen. Buick isn't trying to get into the younger demographics below 34, really. a Grand National would flop much like the GTO did. It would be WAY overpriced. Look at how much shit the GTO got. GM doesn't feel like listening to petty bitch complaints about not living up to the original.

I maintain that the GTO could have been a success, if it wasn't so damn expensive and didn't look just like an oversized '97 Grand Am coupe.

#13, It doesn't need to have a ridiculous amount of power, it just should look newer then 1992. As for the GTO, it lost in the market because it just was a lame rebadged Holden with a corvette engine, I mean why buy a rebaged Holden when you could save some extra money and buy a corvette?

GM and Buick in general need fresh, new ideas. The Grand National name needs to remain dead. In all honesty, the GTO name should have remained dead. Then the car could have actually had a chance. People always bitch that it was a rebadged Holden. So? If it were a rebadged Yugo, then I'd understand.

Honestly, I think the GTO was really an experiment on GM's part. How would a new, RWD car do? Is the name profitable? Is rear wheel drive profitable? Given the lackluster sales of the GTO, I'm suprised GM is going to go with it. The reason it looked like a bigger '97 Grand Am was that GM wasn't really willing to spend all this money to design a car that wasn't a surefire hit.

Make any sense?

#17, I think the point is, though, that those petty bitch complaints are pretty numerous, and GM should listen to them a bit more. If the customers don't think it lives up to the original car, GM should do more to make it like the original car.

I mean, we're not just talking about a few disconsolate blowhards who wouldn't be satisfied with anything, we're talking about the most oft-heard of all GTO-related crticisms.

I mean, I really can't get over how much the GTO looked EXACTLY like a mundane base-level Pontiac sedan... I mean, you look at a '64 Tempest and a '64 GTO! THEY LOOK THE SAME OMG!

Wait... how come we didn't hear that argument back then? Why was it such a big deal THESE days? I actually thought the new GTO looks really sporty.

Like I said, I truely feel that this V platform GTO was merely an experiment. The next gen GTO will be much different. Mark my words.
