By that point my grandpa had passed away and she was living alone with just her little dog, and wanted a smaller, more fuel-efficient car that was easier to drive. I (guilty as charged) recommended she look at a Prius and my dad had her cross-shop a Ford Focus. She loved the Prius so she bought one and has kept it way longer than her usual replacement interval of 5 years (she hates the '04+ Prii).
