Lincoln REALLY needs to unabbreviate the "Mark" in the names of their new cars... when it's just MK-something- it seems just like another alphabet soup name like a lot of other manufacturers...

I hate that. When cars lose real names they lose a lot of character.

Cadillac DeVille is timeless, but years from now who the fuck is going to remember the Cadillac DTS?

#1, The Navigator will likely get renamed MKN. The new Zephyr is already the MKZ. WTF?

It's uglier than the Pacifica, and that's saying something

#2, or, the SRX/CTS hoopla. Cars need names, not random letters. I began to notice 90% of the cars I took pix of had names like CTS, STS, RSX, TSX, CXT, CXS, H3T, ES350, GS450h, SCX430

#3, Well, Cadillac's been dying slowly since about 1997, now it looks like Lincoln is about to follow them. Au revoir, Lincoln

#6, If there as bad as you seem to suggest, I'd rather not. I have enough nightmares to suppress this coming model year

#8, It's a shame really, when you think about it the Navigator is the only thing really keeping them afloat. The LS and Zephyr were mediocre, and the Town Car can't compete with Caddy either. It pisses me off they're fizzling out since they made some awesome cars

#9, The CX7 ain't so bad, except for the big honking Mazda Badge and widemouth grille, it needs to be taller and have a shorter wheelbase

#10, indeed. I don't like how car makers (named those of FoMoCo) are making distinctive, yet ugly-as-fuck front ends.

#8, The Town Car isn't meant to compete with Cadillac. It's the sort of car Cadillac stopping building with the 1996 Fleetwood....just before Lincoln's sales eclipsed their own. Unlike Lincoln, Cadillac just can't grasp that older people buy these cars, not middle-aged yuppies.

Yeah, different isn't always better

#12, Ah, I just figured that the Town Car was vying for the full size 4 door market with the last gen DTS, the prices were the about the same weren't they? But the cars have no similarities now.

#13, Officially they are, but Lincoln has the formula down so much better. The Town Car is a genuine highway car, as it should be, whereas the DeVille/DTS has delusions of being a "driver's car", which puts off a lot of the olders buyers. Not to mention Cadillac's new styling.

Like I said, I consider Cadillac dead. Same with BMW. Lincoln's now heading that way.

#14, I don't mind BMWs styling, but i-Drive is fucking retarded. I sat in an M3 trying for 15 minutes how to turn off the stereo. I finally said "fuck it" and let some BMW conissuer do it.

#14, I agree, Lincoln had the senior market well cornered and although I'm a fan of Cadillac's new styling I just don't think a company renowned for producing land yachts will ever be truly succesful at marketing a line of race inspired cars, no matter how many Vette engines they cram under the hoods.

*looking at the description* It doesn't appear the Mazda CX-7 had anything to do with this and the Edge.
