#1, Very neutral. Feels stable but not understeery. After some practice the guy can fling the rear around even on tarmac (he took part in one rally and everyone asked him if it was AWD). I drove it for a while on the parking lot and it felt very good, safe and with a lot of potential.

Sounds like a good base for a great budget rally car

#4, Glacial is the word to describe the pace. I haven't had the enthusiasm to just jump on it and get it done. My family is still in Chicago and they've been through some hardships of late, so I find my mind is elsewhere. I still plan on finishing it someday, I dream about it all the time actually. As far as progress goes, I've got the GZE cleaned and painted, HKS s/c pulley fitted and that's about it on the motor side of things. Bodywork is still sitting at a friend's shop, waiting for paint... he's busy with paying work so I'm gonna be patient. I've got an LSD, some watanabe knock-offs and a suede covered momo wheel piled on the garage floor at my father in laws. Chassis is already prepped and painted, I've got to fit the bushings and coil overs before I can mount the motor, wheels and so forth. Stock drums still sitting on stock hubs, gotta do something about that soon. Boy, I'm getting overwhelmed now so I'm gonna stop. Glad someone is taking an interest, though :)

#5, That's not a glacial pace... it sounds like you've got a lot of things done already...

You wanna see glacial, ask about my father's 1932 Oldsmobile. 50934 Almost 30 years and barely any progress.

#6, I agree, that's no so slow. Sounds like a lot of stuff is done or ready to be done. You got a lot of stuff lined up and ready to go. More than I thought.

Thanks guys. I guess it only feels slow as I haven't done anything in a few months save for play with the steering wheel and make vroom vroom noises. Another thing holding me back is that once it's finished I'm probably gonna let go of one of the twins... three 'weekend' cars is kinda hard to justify! I have to make Sophie's Choice and I don't look forward to it.

#6, Ah the OLDsmobile! I've read about that before, you need to go 'liberate' it and get it road worthy ;)

#6, True. What I have done to my car: changed the front tires, adjusted the handbrake (still too weak), installed new wipers, bent the passenger's side door a bit so it looks almost like repaired, changed one spark plug and one ignition wire. Wow.

#11, Wait. I did one more thing. I scraped off some rust and covered it with Hammerite. The color almost fits.
To do: fix the passenger's side door, put a new gearbox in, change the spark plugs, have the carb rebuilt, fix rust under the car and around front and rear windshield.
After that: bucket seats, racing harnesses, suspension.
Dreams: strip the car and fix the body properly, tune the engine to 60-70hp (or swap in a 1.2), bolt/weld a rollcage in, change the brakes to 4-disks from GTT/GTE model.
With all these things done I would end up with a little imp: 70hp and 700kg... yeah. With a car like that I could even consider going pro.
