Last Exile was bloody awesome. Seriously. Wow.

Lucky Star It starts off slow the first few episodes... but then it takes off... it is very insane. It's kinda similar to Azumanga Daioh, but it has a LOT of Japanese pop culture references and parodies.. and the "Lucky Channel" segment at the end of every ep is particularly humorous with the "tempermental former J-pop idol" as the host XD (she reminds me a lot of Haruka from FLCL)

Witch Hunter Robin It was... good. But not rewatchable, IMO. Sunrise does good work, no doubt about that.

Sugar, A Little Snow Fairy Very good... but again, not very rewatchable. It was quite cute and sugary-sweet.

Wangan Midnight Already have a thread about it. No more to say :)

Di Gi Charat It's... insane. And each episode is only 3 minutes long o_0

Elfen Lied I've watched only the first episode. I want my sanity back. I mean... waht teh FUCK. o_0

I think I've now seen the apex of weird, creepy, and disturbing anime: Gilgamesh. I think the author watched End of Evangelion and said, "no, no, far too upbeat." Honestly, I'm not sure whether to think the series was good or bad; it seems to me like a remix of the more dark and disturbing themes from Evangelion but without the giant robots.

Finished Elfen Lied. waht teh FUCK. o_0

But an amazingly beautifully animated series, and a plot that really sucks you in, but christ it's so fucking messed up. It's amazing all the ways the human body can be animated being torn apart... especially decapitations...

That series is disturbing and hilarious at the same time.

Samurai Champloo

I'm only up through episode 5, but it's a fun series. Episode 5, itself, was great... basically because of the fact that both Shinichiro Miki and Unshou Ishizuka did cameo roles in that episode (they voice Takumi and Bunta in Initial D)... and the last line, where Fuu reflects upon an artist that betrayed her trust... she says, "I can forgive him, because he drew me with big hooters"... I just couldn't stop laughing...

I've started Samurai Champloo, it is a good series although not espescially groundbreaking, it reminds me of Ninja Scroll in some ways which isn't a bad thing. I also just finished Full Metal Alchemist and the last few episodes really blew me away, what a quality show. I actually felt for Ed and Al more than I felt for some characters in real life movies and series, it didn't hurt that FMA had a fantastic storyline either.

Haven't made much progress on Samurai Champloo... but in my other viewings...

Doki Doki School Hours Up through episode 8... just a generic high school comedy... with a teacher that appears 10 years old, a student that appears 40 years old, a female student madly in love with a female teacher, a cross-dresser (but he's straight... but another male student IS gay), an otaku... it's all very generic. Really :P

Escaflowne: The Movie Much darker and serious than the TV series... pretty much all the shojo and "magical girl" stuff got thrown out the window. But it was still excellent.

Perfect Blue Uhm. My mind got completely blown at the end of this one. But Oh my God was it just oh so good. Just a haunting psychological thriller. Fantastic.

Finished Samurai Champloo... it was... alright. It was no Cowboy Bebop, but it was enjoyable. But, the zombie and baseball episodes were entirely pointless and took away from the show. Ugh.

Gedo Senki TALES from EARTHSEA It was quite good. Though, it's hard to ignore that it could have been much better if Hayao had helmed it.

Fist of the North Star Movie It was... wow... tons and tons of plot squeezed into a mere 2 hours. But it was excellent, and very VERY violent.

I watched alot of the popular series like Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop, two of the finer animated series's ever produced imho. I haven't checked out much of the funny or cooky stuff though, like Azumanga Daioh, that stuff's just not my bag.

I finally watched Ghost in the Shell. Good movie. Second one was just ok. Amazing animation in either, which is the main reason I got them.

I saw the Ghost in the Shell movie... I dunno... it just seemed a bit *off* for me... but I know a guy that has the first season of the TV series on DVD, and I'm hoping I can borrow it from him.

Tokyo Godfathers Was cute and funny, and sweet. Wonderful animation, too. But, after seeing Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress, I guess I was expecting more from Satoshi Kon :P

The DVD commentaries on the End of Eva helped a lot.
Can someone explain to me where they get these titles? "Elfen Lied"? I don't think it is because of the translation.

Watching Ghost in the Shell now doesn't amaze me. I'm getting kinda bored with anime. Perhaps its because I only see Adult Swim, some block buster releases, and Ani-monday. They're not original as I remember them.

#117, I often wonder the same thing. It must take skill to come up with such preposterous-sounding titles.

#117, Elfen Lied is actually a German name... it's supposed to be "Elfenlied" (Ell-fin-leed), or in English, "Elf Song"... which I'm guessing is referring to the song played by the music box/the opening theme song.

But yeah, many *English* Anime titles are wonderous examples of Engrish.
