lain Wow... watched the first disc (first four episodes) that show is a TRIP... I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I can't look away while watching it... it's just so fucking good... and the animation/drawing style is quite different from most... apparently, according to Wikipedia, it's because the director of the series is one of the few Anime directors who didn't work at ALL in the manga scene... his artistry is not influenced by manga...

On a whim I rented this one anime called "Karas" it was about this sacred samurai dude who had to fight all these demons (like every other anime, of course). But it had some of the most jaw dropping visuals I've ever seen, and a pretty good plot.

#44, Ah, it appears I can pick up the one you probably rented (first 3 episodes) for $11 if I had the money... the second DVD release is coming out next year with the second half of the series.

Ok, well, watched Puni Puni Poemy, which is a pseudo-sequel to Excel Saga... ... Puni Puni Poemy is the most pointless Anime I have ever seen. No plot. It's just one frenetic situation after another loosely tied together with parodies galore... including graphic parodies of hentai >_< I did get a few chuckles out of it... but really, not something I'll add to my "favorites" list...

#52, I did like all the crossover gags from Excel Saga, those were good... but I don't care if it IS a parody of every Anime under the sun, it has to have SOME underlying substance to it... which is why I liked Excel Saga... I do have to say, episode 24 of Excel Saga, when they decided to do a "serious" episode and remove all the gags... that is my favorite episode.

#54, I thought Excel Saga was better; Poemy reminded me of the last episode of Excel, "Going Too Far," which wasn't broadcast with the original series. Nabeshin's afro-man swarm attack thing was cute.
