It's just that this car looks just like one that appears in Initial D Fourth Stage (the fourth season of the show... well, kinda, since the third season is basically only one full-length movie) http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/inishuru-d.jpg

Y'know, now that I think about it, they really need to come out with an OVA that shows the first two uphill battles from Fourth Stage... Keisuke versus the R34 GT Turbo and the Integra Type R, that were skipped over in the show.

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard... from what I understand, those two races were drawn out in detail in the manga, so no real "having to write them up" work needed to be done by the writers if there were an OVA... ...also, I think something that would be neat is if they "re-animated" 1st stage... not up to Fourth Stage levels... 2nd Stage level of animation would be just fine. Going back to watch episodes of 1st stage is kinda harsh, in terms of realizing how crappy the animation really is.

#9, I agree. After watching the vastly improved techniques in the Third Stage movie and in Fourth Stage, the early episodes really look pretty bad. A remake would be neat.

One of the reasons I couldn't get into that first gundam series was the animation looking like ass. :/

#10, They don't even have to record new voices or anything, or change any camera angles... just a shot-for-shot recreation of the original series... the reason I want them to animate it to 2nd Stage's level of quality is so that it doesn't look out of place.
