#2, The funny thing is they obviously learned nothing since they decided to try it again with the Catera

#3, Except... the Catera was nothing like the Cimarron... the Cimarron was a domestic FWD economy car gussied up with a cushier interior and nicer paint and chrome... the Catera was a RWD European executive sedan with a Cadillac grille slapped on it...

#4, From the lowest-tier Euro brand that was analogous to Chevy.... maybe they moved the bar up a bit, but it still wasn't that high. You gotta try HARDER than that if you want to offer a REAL competitor to a 3 series BMW, let alone a 5.

#5, Yes, the Omega was a competitor of the Ford Scorpio and Rover 800... it was no match for BMW... but to essentially compare an Opel Omega to a Chevrolet Cavalier is terribly unfair.

What I always found hard to believe is that the Toyota Camry is considered an executive car in Europe, but maybe that's just because it's biggish by their standards?

#7, It's marketed as a competitor to the Commodore and Falcon in Australia... which I find to be insulting.

Well, ok, they put a different front end on it, took off the Camry nameplate, and replaced it with "Aurion"...

#8, They have both the Camry and the Aurion. My cousin drives an Aurion, and his wife has what we're getting as the Scion iM.

The used to have Falcons, though.
