This is exactly what the car I spoke about in 8063 looked like! Except with no wheels, grille, or bumpers, and covered with a good coating of surface rust. |

Henry J was one of the many independants, wasn't it? I don't think I ever heard of them being tied in with one of the big three. |

It wasn't the big three back then, it was the big 5 or 6. Henry J was built by Kaiser. |

Okay. Well, I knew there were more than just GM, Ford and Mopar, but they were pretty pedominant even back then. My father-in-law is a Studebaker nut, and the more he shows me about thm, the more I regret their demise. Tucker should've hung in there, too-they were making technological advances that wouldn't see mass-production for another 20 years. |

Prior to WWII there were some 20 odd automakers in this country I think...... the emergence of the big 3 has been a rather recent development
AMC was that way too, ahead of thier time. they were very innovative, but never had the $ or the market share to really get up on the rest |
