Makes sense. #2 11-04-2006 @ 10:46:21 PM Posted By : DiRF  Reply | Edit | Del The ADV-notes that pop-up (optional on the DVD release, looks like VH1's Pop-Up Video... gives info about what is being parodied and notes about Japanese culture and whatnot) on Excel Saga say that Nabeshin driving a "LanEvo" is a referrence to Initial D 2nd Stage, but honestly, I think he just put it in there since he has one :D Now School Rumble, that has two honest-to-goodness parodies of Initial D... the second one is funnier... the episode opens with a race between an NSX and a black Skyline GT-R... but then as the opening sequence ends, it turns out it's all the fantasy of a salaryman that's sitting in the back of his friend's regular Skyline sedan, and his friends are looking at him annoyed...
