I know your pain, I drive a 94 Cavalier, RS 4 door. Groan, 3 speed auto, 0-60 in 12.5 seconds.

Hey, I don't mind it, it gets good gas mileage, it doesn't eat oil (even though it's got 90k miles on the odometer), it rides good, it handles good (since I've got Michelin X-ONEs on the front, and crappy tires on the back, I can actually get the rear end to swing out sometimes...unintentionally, though), and the 2.2L has good torque for an economy 4 banger.

I feel for you DiRF, untill last month my ride was "Total Ego Death" defined, an 85' Honda Accord, where should I start with the problems this thing had?

-The brakes were shot, they squeaked constantly
-The right front bearing was gone, it made a nice pungent burning odor when the windows were down
-THe tires were bald
-One of the hubcaps was missing
-It had a leak in the brake system, I had to top of the fluid daily
-There was rust on the fender wells, all of them
-The trunk lid was dented in from being hit by a tractor, and yes, it was a FORD TRACTOR!
-The belt would slip all the time, making a tweety-bird squeal that would cause yer back teet to float
-A horse (yes, a horse) chewed off the radio antenna, FM band was no longer available and the casette player was broken too, so I couldn't bring along my own music. After several weeks of NPR, I was ready to careen of the highway
-Deer dents all over the place (I got 3 to my credit!

Do I have to spell it out? I DON'T HATE MY CAR. It's just not an exciting car, and it's very slow. THAT'S IT.

I ran out of space, but what I was stabbing at was that I would have BOUGHT your car, I needed one like that, slow, unglamorous, but reliable as heck and well cared for, nothing wrong with that. ( I didn't hate my Honda either, but it was on it's last legs)

heh, ok, the car isnt that bad. It does get great mileage, however, a 5 speed would greatly improve it. My car is beginning to have issues with the front left suspension. Other than that, it runs great. It has quite a number of dings on it, gets washed once every other year, and has 4 accidents to its name. rock on

Mine's never been washed, except by mother nature. It's so dirty that I wrote stuff on the back of it. But instead of writing the proverbial "Wash Me" on it, I wrote "GTR" below the "CAVALIER" lettering on the tailgate. I guess it was to be funny, and to be a slam on riceboys...

im thinking this is a civic with a cavalier-wagon conversion

seeing how even a cavalier is better than a civic, why not?

hahahahahaha....nope...bought off the showroom floor as a purple Cavalier wagon...always has been and always will be. (Because I'm too cheap to get it repainted in a better color.)

And what's wrong with Purple? You don't see anyone complaining about a purple road runner do you?

Well, yeah, because that's a RoadRunner! It's all relative, certain stuff can be forgivable if the car makes up for it in another way...well, since I love wagons, the purple is kinda forgivable...if it were a sedan, it'd be down to Maaco faster than you can say "Sloppy work with no clear coat for $129".

It's the only Purple Cavalier wagon (hell ANY J-body wagon) that I've ever seen. So it IS pretty unique.

Not as unique as some of those home-grown "Pepto Bismol Pink" paint jobs on college beaters, those are just wrong

Well, at least mine is a DARK purple...it doesn't look near as bad as some of those other "unique" paint colors...
