Wages of Fear.

The scariest movie I've ever seen.

This was an *excellent* movie. I saw it about a month ago, and my nerves are fucking SHOT.

The 1977 remake, Sorceror, is a little more well-known, and was really about as good.

#5, By the end of the movie I was actually SHOUTING at the TV.

"Stop weaving all over the road you BASTARD! You're not home free yet!"

I posted a comment on the now-disappeared thread so I'll repeat it here. I didn't find it scary, but I did find it depressing. The message of the film was that whether you were a hero or a coward, whether you were ambitious or lazy, whether you were smart or stupid, you'd still end up dead. So the trip hauling the nitro was really just a metaphor for life itself, and it is a game that nobody wins, which I guess explains that ending which always seemed sort of tacked-on to me. BTW, is there anybody who watches this film and sees Luigi without thinking of Mario Brothers? :)
