Description:
part of a 221 car collection in South Dakota. Had one of the original General Lees and the last Syclone sold in South Dakota, as well as two original Ford tractors, and a pristine 1987 Ford Taurus. |

This one is wearing the less frequently seen but also less attractive Type A paintscheme.

#2, I thought it was more common? Just about all SC/Ramblers I've seen pictures of have this paintscheme. I don't think I've seen a SR/Rambler IRL yet, tho.

#4, they had one at the Ford Museum as well. I'll see if I can ask my mom to email the pics., :)

"The generally accepted production number for the SC/Rambler is 1512 total. The exact makeup is unknown, but AMC collectors acknowledge that the first batch of 500 were painted in the "A" paint scheme (white with red sides, blue stripe down the center), and the second batch in the "B" paint scheme (white with a red and a blue stripe on and just above the rocker panels). The last batch of 512 is controversial, but most agree that they were most likely painted in the "B" scheme due to the cost and complexity of the "A" scheme. The fact that there seems to be more "A" scheme cars out there now is not a valid indicator. The paint code does not indicate which paint scheme was originally used. Many owners simply painted their cars in the flashier "A" scheme."

#7, Interesting site, by the way. I found out my car's factory color is Cape Cod Blue Metallic, based on the paint code P45A I found on the Body tag.
