We can buy the plastic add-on crap, but can we buy the car with that engine in it? If not, then it's just rice with parts from the dealer.

Actually the SC is available for $2995.99 from http://www.pfyc.com/ As for the HP, when coupled with a the functional ram air kit, along with a perormance exhaust, it's capable of 280hp... remember it's only 8psi boost, no intercooler. A few other mods, FPR, ASE re-program, intercooler and you'll see 315 HP, and just over 340tq at the wheel. Of course to get much more you'd have to replace the TB, and more importantly that tranny you just toasted :) Believe me the TQ more than makes up for the hp. |

Or, one could only buy the mods that do increase engine output and have a pretty decent car.
How bad is the torque steer on a FWD car with that much torque? |

It's amazingly tight, you dont get that much tq steer even under launch conditions. I've driven one with a Zex nitrus system pumping a 100shot at launch (pretty much the same effect the SC would give with a few additional most) and it's quite stable. From what others with the SC have said, they haven't had a problem. Head to http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/ if you want to learn more, there is one hell of a community over there. |

with the low level (relatively) torque that most turbocharged or supercharged 4/6 FWD cars generate, torque steer isn't a problem. you only see major torque steer when going straight when you've got something in the area of 500+ lb/ft of torque at the wheels, and that is usually more of a rwd problem. you can get major torque steer in corners with a FWD car, because of the uneven loads. FWD cars usually don't get a big enough contact patch to get torque steer going straight without full out suspension workover anyway. |
