Description:
Scar Symmetry.

Melodic death-metal band from Sweden. If you like Soilwork, then you'll fall in love with Scar Symmetry : sounds like SW's earlier stuff but the singer can actually sing AND he has the coolest guttural voice when he screams. Awesome melodies, solos, rythms, just great musicians. I bought both their albums a couple months ago.

#5, It depends if you like mostly violent or mostly melodic.. or the perfect match of the 2 kinds.

#6, How about a mix?

I've grown out of metal in the past few years, it's just too loud for me in my old age but Mastodon are incredible. Check this out: http://www.amazon.com/Leviathan-Mas...7473&sr=1-3

#9, Honestly, I don't like the voice at all and the music isn't really much "tight" all the time. BUT, they have an immense potential for me to like them. His ozzy-ish voice annoys me (I always hated Ozzy), the guitar's sound could be much improved if they didn't use Marshall amps and Gibson guitars that give this "cliché" rock sound that I can't stand anymore. Otherwise, sound quality is great for a band of this genre.

#10, It's always interesting to hear a connoisseur's take on something you're into. Thanks.

And btw, you should absolutly buy Snot's only album (singer died in 1998) released in 1997.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snot_(band)

I think this band's got the best I can hear in Mastodon, honestly.

#18, Great, Symmetric in Design is also excellent.

Now I buy all my albums used from Amazon. I've got all 4 Hatesphere albums that way and they're like brand new, but I paid like 8 bucks for each.
