There was one in the entrance to the exhibit at the Peterson when I last visited.

#1, It's still there. It's a permanent exhibit and is hooked up to a steam machine routed up through its radiator filler so it appears to have overheated. The museum also slathered "mud" on the tires.

#2, Since the Petersen was completely redone inside and out, they removed the Underslung from display. Apparently it belongs to the LA Museum of Natural History. Here it is being shown at Pebble in 2016.

...I... I remember seeing this car at the Petersen! ...wish I had known it was so ungodly rare, I'd have taken a photo :(
