Hmm...I'm more interested in the Microbus that's just sneaking into the picture...from what I can see, it looks kinda interesting, and in good condition. I don't know about the Microbus's exhaust though...but the wheels look about the right size...I don't know, I'm just going off on a tangent...

well, the original porsches had about that much hp, and they'd get up over 100mph.

The new VW is simply a travesty if your old enough to remember when these were all over the place.

They still are, where I live. Then again, the new one have triple the hp of the original. But that's not saying much.

well, more HP is nice and all, but the shape is ugly, the price is too much, they're shamelessly being vamped as a vehicle of the 60's for today (BS), they're liquid cooled, they lack all character, need I go on? They just suck, and if you see one being driven by a college aged woman, look out, she WILL cut you off.

I've seen two (2) new bugs that I didn't mind, and that was because of funny license plates. One (owned by a gay guy I know) said Bugger, and the other one was a turbo with a bunch of stuff done to it, a spoiler, and a license plate that sad BUG PWR, which for some incomprehensible reason I find funny as hell.

I don't like em, but I thought those license plates were funny.

The funniest plate I've ever seen was on an old "Amphicar" and said SWIM7CS

Could be... although I'd lean toward saying they're more of a Cragar knockoff. I may be wrong, though.

the crappiest thing about the new bug is that its a front engine car, in a rear engine design, so the whole interior had to be moved back, within the shell, and the resulting setup is crap, the dash is huge, and the windshield is far away from the driver, you feel...disconnected

I breifly drove one on vallet parking duty once, got the same feeling of being out of place inside, the most comfortable thing I drove all day was an 82' Chevy Pickup
