The GSX is still my all-time favorite GM muscle car.

I've got to give it up for the 1969 GTO (especially the Judge) and the 1970 Olds 442 W-30.

But yeah, GSs and GSXs are very under-appreciated. You'd think someone would have at least put one in a video game by now or something.

#2, There's one on the cover of my PC edition of Grand Theft Auto, and printed on the disc.

#3, Yeah, and a couple of cars in the first two Driver games were very loosely based on them, too. But that's about it.

IIRC, the Stage III GSX held the record for production sedan with the highest torque rating...

The GSX seems to be a favorite amongst car games that use close fascimiles rather than actually licensing vehicles... I know I'll get some argument on this, but the Sabre Turbo from Vice City is a GSX doppelgannger, IMO.

#5, I'd say the Sabre Turbo is more of an Olds 442 with no grille divider.

EDIT: As far as I know, BTW, the Stage III was an engine that never left the experimental stages, so only a handful were built. Even the Stage II wasn't technically production, since it actually consisted of a series of parts that could be ordered through the dealer.

The basic Stage I was good for 510 ft. lbs. of torque, though, and I don't know of any muscle cars that produced more.

#6, Ah, Stage I could be the one I heard about, then.

Not bad for a bright yellow Buick with an automatic.
