These things had some seriously powerfull engines in them, I don't think a single one from the whole series was rated under 300 HP

#3, This one. 354 Hemi with 355 hp.

The 1957 Chrysler 300 C (390 hp) was the second fastest American car of the 1950s (right behind the Corvette fuelie, thanks to its light weight).

#3, It was the DeSoto Adventurer. I belive it had a 345 cid V-8 with 345 hp. It was most likely a variant of the 345 used in the Chryslers.

#5, IIRC, the Adventurer came out in '57, so the 300C and the Adventurer came out at exactly the same time, they share the honor of being the first 1/1 hp/ci measurement.

The Adventurer came out in '56 as an alternative to the Plymouth Fury (both were only available in eggshell with gold trim for the first year), but in '57 the DeSoto was made closer to the Chrysler 300.

And the '56 300B was the first to break 1 hp/cubic inch. A 354 with 355 hp.
