I saw a dark blue 7 series of this gen yesterday, with beige leather. Niiiiice.

For some reason, BMW's seem to pile up by the dozens during snowstorms, 1 in 3 calls for winch-outs seem to come from BMW owners who apparently think a lot of cash and a fancy marquee make you immune from the laws of physics

#4, funny enough, not a lot of cash. BMWs depreciate rather quickly. You can pick up a lightly used X5 for less than $30k, and X3s and X1s are tons cheaper. Same deal with 7-Series.
