they are making a super light version of the E46 in europe. It has more HP and loses about 600 lbs from the normal E46...very cool. I think it has something like 400HP or something.

to tell you the truth ....i'm not sure where you put he E46 BMW....i mean what does it compete with really? There just aren't any other 5 seaters that scoot like it does. The WRX is a class lower, but in the same boat. You can say it competes with Porsche 911's but it is cheaper and seats more people and is a much heavier car. (about 400lbs). You can say it competes against the Z06, (price is the same) but it is much more of GT car then a pure sports car. A great car though. The new super light doesn't really compete as it costs over $100k though.

Oh, and you can get a street version of this car, there were only 250 made. Just imagine an E46 M3 w/ the V8 GTR engine in it. You can get one prolly for 150,000

An actually good use for a huge wing, fender flares and expensive wheels. To make a good car look fast.

They didn't really make the GTR on purpose. They had to, if they wanted to stay with the v8 in the GTR-series. It has carbonfiber roof and doors. A pretty awesome little car.
