I actually met this guy by sheer happenstance in the parking garage at the San Jose convention center after the auto show last night. He's since done a Euro bumper swap and is restoring the car, which came from Ohio and has a lot of hidden rust. According to him, this is one of about 10 Stradas known to still exist in the US and allegedly the only one in the world with a sunroof.

I'll say it: I think it looked better with the U.S. bumpers and grille.

I'm cutting a sunroof in this scrap car!

Sir?

Nobody cares if it's a scrapyard right?

This isn't a scrapyard, this is a dealership

Oh....... uh............ so, uhm, anyone know the phone number to the Embassy?

RIP copper Strada.

I contacted the owner and he said he took the car apart after the engine went out, and found so much Ohio rust underneath that the car was too far gone to economically save. He's using the parts to restore another factory sunroof, factory fuel-injection and rust-free 1980 Strada.
