After reading Stephen King's Cell, I can't think of these things the same way.

I've never seen a tourist model (though I have seen military spec'ed ones), but I'm sure if I did see one the first thought that would cross my mind is "Will the driver freak out, start spouting gibberish, and broadside an ice cream truck at full speed?"

#1, I saw three of them in SF yesterday. Red, white, and yellow. There's also a green one around town somewhere. They're used for these "Bay Quackers" land and sea tours. Not sure if they actually get driven in the water. I also see numerous double-decker tour buses with British license plates like the one in the background.

King apparently likes using obscure vehicles in his novels... sometimes even if they don't actually exist. (4-door Plymouth Fury? Tucker Talisman?)

#4, Same here. King said that an abandoned truck sitting out in a field that he used to drive past frequently inspired that story....I wonder what kind of truck it really was.
