Description:
Wow. Here's a blast from the past... a long-time friend of the family gave us some old photos, including this one when they had visited my family up in PA back in 1989...
- 1973 Mercedes-Benz 220D
- 1974 Dodge club-cab pickup
- 1985 Dodge Ram wagon
I finally have a photo of that old van... lots of fond childhood memories of it. |

The truck was... well... a beat-up old truck. Granted, it wasn't *that* old at the time, but it was still beat-to-shit. My father bought it when he moved to PA in '86... he felt he'd need a good 4wd vehicle for the winters... the original tailgate was long-gone, so it had a mesh airgate... I still remember the big vinyl bench seat it had up front, the seat in back was probably in the same place as the original tailgate for all we knew. I remember sitting in the center of the front seat, being told very specifically to NEVER touch the big, tempting lever sticking out of the floor. I later learned it was the 4wd transfer case lever. It was automatic, so my mother could drive it, but she hated it. Only vehicle with worse brakes in her opinion was her old Catalina's... and that's because the Catalina's brakes actually failed completely once.
The Mercedes...already explained the story behind that in 60398 Yes, it WAS light tan, but old photos have a way of having screwy colors. |

#11, I also like the Probe 5 spoke hubcaps as well, and another favorite cap of mine is the Corsica/Cavalier three spoke, and Cavalier/Beretta 5 spoke. |

Oh wow. I always assumed it had lace wheels. I've actually never seen the pictured style in person. |

There were two trim levels for 1990 - ES and LE. ES was the sport model, which did indeed have lace wheels.
Just from that tiny resolution image, it's obvious that one is an LE, even without the additional information reinforcing it.
