2003 eh? Looks like something from the early to mid '90s.

#2, The Comfort was a vehicle designed specifically for taxi fleets in the mid '90s... meant to be very simplistic and restrained in design... funny thing is, you actually had a choice of buying it in FWD or RWD form.

#4, same with the Ford Transit and Nissan Serena too, I believe.

#5, IIRC, the RAM ProMaster is the only large/fullsize cargo van with FWD on sale in America... less "rugged" in construction, but it provides for a more compact drivetrain, resulting in a much larger, flat area in the back.

...probably the only reason it's worth buying versus a fullsize NV/Transit/Sprinter... because, seriously, the ProMaster is one damned-ugly van... an ITALIAN damned-ugly van. I mean, I know I'm taking a reliability risk with my 500c, but commercial fleets really don't want to deal with long-term reliability/durability problems... that's why a number of police fleets have dumped the Charger.

#6, Hmm. I thought the Transit was FWD or RWD? Or was that just the European models?

The Toyota Comfort ended production in late 2017, replaced by the arguably ungainly "JPN Taxi". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_JPN_Taxi
