The use of pod-mounted headlights on these cars always struck me as odd....though not necessarily in a bad way.

#2, My thoughts exactly. Quirky for a piece of American automotive history and I'll always love these for it. Such a perfect land yacht.

I read somewhere that Imperials were the first cars to used curved side-windows... and that they were among the first to use a frame AND unibody in the same car...

#4, I always found it odd that the suicide-door Continental used curved side glass during this same time period, but discontinued it in 1964 to cut costs. Wonder what the actual savings was.
