Description:
It's the 1956 Nurburgring race and racer/engineer Michael May's 550 Spyder shows up with the first ever inverted wing for downforce. Despite being laughed at, he sets 4th time in qualifing, beating the likes of Fangio and factory Porsches with his privately owned machine. Porsche team boss files a protest and May is disqualified, as his car is deemed 'unsafe'. |

The wings would reapper only in 1961 on a Chapparal sports car, then in 1968 they would start to appear in F1... the rest is history. |
