1973. Still has a smog test on record from December 21, 1996. It passed.

#1, Funny how people these days see an old car and just assume it's a gross polluter and whine that it should be crushed.
And then a '73 Impala passes a California smog test.

A cleaner Archie, both cleaner burning and cleaner looking. Ever since I started using the now defunct Gloria's old carb to run the cars through the (Arizona) test, they always pass. Never failed a test with that carb. So it sits on the shelf for just that occasion. Lol

#2, Do older cars have to pass a less-stringent emissions test? Or the same one newer cars can? For a car like this, an approrpriate emissions test would be, "Did less than 5 bird drop dead out of the sky during the test? If so, it passes."

...yes, I know I stole that joke from "Ernie"...

#6, Passenger vehicles 1975 and older are exempt from emissions testing in California. 1976 and newer will have to keep testing until the laws change or they all fail/wear out. I believe they all have to meet the same standard, although hybrids are exempt because they could never pollute like a regular car... *eyeroll*

#8, Like Jeremy Clarkson once said, "I want a Hummer with a 9-volt battery wired into it so it can be a "hybrid" and qualify for all the privileges hybrids get"...
