Description:
I would just like to express my enjoyment of the new "cheaper" Johnny Lightning diecasts... no pointless "trading cards", no pointless themes (Monopoly, Coca-Cola, etc, that'll languish on store shelves for years), just honest to goodness decent 1/64 diecasts with nice detailing and normal paintjobs, and asking only twice the price of a regular Hot Wheels diecast, instead of $3-$5... |

#32, Apparently JL is more in-touch than we think. There's apparently been a long-standing rumor in Australia that one of the 24 Aussie-built AMXs was acquired by George Miller and company for the first Mad Max to be used as an MFP car, but during prepping he decided not to use it....either he found out how rare they were (the Aussie versions were already appreciating in the late '70s), he thought it would be too hard to get parts for it on the fly, or maybe he just decided he didn't like the look of it, or decided a two-seater police car didn't make sense.
Whether this is true or not, Rambler AMX number 15 out of 24 was not long ago located with a very old MFP paint scheme identical to the one on the JL die cast, underneath a more recent gold repaint. It could be the real deal or just an old half-assed Mad Max replica, but either way the current owner is electing to restore it with the MFP color scheme. |

Since the start of the year, I've gotten more serious about collecting 1:64s, especially Greenlights. I'm pretty impressed by the one Autoworld I have, too (a '65 Barracuda Formula S), so I may have to pick up a few more of theirs. |

#45, I had no idea they did a '58 Plymouth. A Misty Green '58 Belvedere will most likely be in my next order.
Along with a Cinnamon '74 Buick Estate and a green '69 Chevy Kingswood. |

#46, Just ordered two: The Misty Green '58, and a 1976 Chevrolet Bicentennial Edition pickup.
I already have a Greenlight 1976 Ford Bicentennial, so the two should look pretty cool side-by-side. |
