Description:
I would just like to express my enjoyment of the new "cheaper" Johnny Lightning diecasts... no pointless "trading cards", no pointless themes (Monopoly, Coca-Cola, etc, that'll languish on store shelves for years), just honest to goodness decent 1/64 diecasts with nice detailing and normal paintjobs, and asking only twice the price of a regular Hot Wheels diecast, instead of $3-$5...

Sensey... I normally am in awe of your grasp of the English language, considering it's not your first language... but those last two posts of yours...

...I guess everyone slips every now and again :P

#22, Heh, ok.

But, yeah, I did once have a dream where I had to use a Nascar for commuting... don't remember much else from the dream.

#23, Carbed V8 @ 8500rpm... oh yeah.
But lately I found a better use for them: trophy trucks and baja buggies. For someone from Europe these are like creations from another plane of reality.

edited for language idiocy

I would like to state, the '31 Cadillac and '37 Cord 812 from this line are AMAZING... I highly recommend them!

#27, Yes. I was released along with the Cord. I like them both. It's nice to see these old Racing Champions castings used again.

#28, They use recycled RC castings now? In all honesty, I liked the JLs before they got the pretentious full-plastic surrounded blister packages (that happened around 2007 I think, sometime after Learning Curve took over), when they still had vastly superior detailing, series and those silly cards but were still just a blister on cardboard. They didn't cost THAT much more than regular diecasts if you bought them at the right places (I could get 3 for $5 at the old K-B Toys in the local mall for a while, '05-06). Sometimes they were under $3 at Target or Wal-Mart. Now I can hardly find JLs anywhere and they aren't much cheaper than they always were, at least in my area. The only JLs I ever buy these days cost me $4 apiece for older models at swap meets, because I can't find the new cheap ones locally. I did get lucky one time when a guy was trying to dump his whole stock on the last day of a swap meet, and sold everything for a buck each. I bought a bunch of JLs that day.

Let's do another round of shots...

...yes, that's an AMX painted up in MFP livery... either someone at JL has a sense of humor, or they're REALLY bad at ID-ing cars used in films :P

I miss Johnny Lightning. It seems like in my area you have to be "in the know" to get any of them. Nobody here seems to stock them except Toys R Us, which apparently still wants $5 apiece. I used to see the cheaper JLs at Target, but they've dropped them entirely. I still can only get them at swap meets or online.

#37, Yeah, all the retailers around here don't carry them anymore... but I think I got my fill. With cleaning out my room and storage areas months ago, I'm liking the lack of a burden living "clutter free" brings... so the less toy cars I buy, the better.

Consarnit, went to a Walmart that is a bit out of the way, and they had some JLs... not many, but I picked up a Dirt Modified and a Citation X-11.
