Description:
Golly, I sure wish I was pretentious enough to call this "art".

Jimmie Durham, Xitle and Spirit, 2007. Volcanic stone on automobile, 200 x 350 x 160 cm.

Apparently this guy likes to smash cars with big rocks, paint smiley faces on them and call them art pieces.

I'd rant about stupid, pointless, mind-numbingly dull shit like this not actually being art... but it wouldn't change a damn thing... pseudo-intellectual, pretentious douchebags will continue to do this garbage and rake in grants, funds, and cheers from similarly pseudo-intellectual, pretentious douchebag "art critics"...

Yeah, a real artist's imagination. Especially considering he just does the same thing over and over and over again.

#3, Kinda reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer becomes an "artist" with his screwed-up rage-filled grill-build... he gets praised, then when he churns out more of the same, the art community gets bored and leaves.

Why won't the same happen to this guy?

I must admit I do like the idea of a giant rock being dropped on "certain" cars. But a video of it happening would be much more fun to look at. Wasn't there a photo of a car like this, maybe a few years older, with a giant cactus that landed on it? I imagine it's on this site somewhere.
