its an australian car, ford laser tx3 they were awd factory turbo. this guy has taken out the front drive shafts and made it rwd. its also got 210 rwhp. that is also the stock body kit on it [Edited by cams116 on 2-03-2002 @ 11:40:36 PM]

You know how sometimes a car company will use the same car for different markets, but change the front facia a bit? I think that's what they did with the Aussie Ford Laser, because it looks ALOT like an 80's American Mercury Tracer. [Edited by DiRF on 2-04-2002 @ 05:50:25 PM]

Yeah, there was a Mercury Tracer 2-door hatchback here in America, the roofline and rear-end of this car look identical to the Tracer. (I say Tracer and Not Ford Escort, because the Escort had different taillights, whereas this car's taillights look more similar to the Tracer's)

I drove a car just like this in Driver's Ed. Albeit, the one I drove was tan, and had no exterior modifications. It was a good little handling car. Though, I never drove it over 20 mph in Driver's Ed. (At least, I wasn't SUPPOSED to....)

The mercury tracer up until 90 was just a rebadged mazda 323.
