Actually, the Electra did get square lights in '75... the '76 did NOT have a grille that spanned the entire front fascia... the '76 had turn signals right under the headlights.

Why GM staggered the adoption of square headlights on some cars is beyond me...

#2, Styling, the 'luxury' marquees got them first, so the Caddys and Buicks got them as soon as the DOT said it was okay, and by a year or two later, everyone had them, and, as always, trucks were the last adopters. My old Dodge had the rounds still and it was a 78'

#4, Wasn't 1979 the first year for square/stacked headlights on the Dodge/Plymouth models? I'm not sure if Ford/GM was the same way with their trucks and vans.

#5, The trucks got them in '79, but '77 was the first year for stacked squares on specific Dodge/Plymouth models.
