I still don't understand the point of Ford's SUV lineup anymore... you've got the Edge. You've got the Flex. ...and then you've got the Explorer, which is essentially a Flex with an Edge body.

don't forget the Escape/Kuga, and the C-Max and S-Max, both of which will be coming here.

#2, I believe the Kuga, when it gets a new generation, will be the replacement for the Escape in America... and I have no problem with that... the Flex/Edge/Explorer are all large-midsize SUVs, too much overlap... the Escape/Kuga will be compact.

...are we getting *both* the C-Max and S-Max? As a fan of the Mazda5, I shall have no complaints about more mini-minivans making it to America. The more the merrier.

#3, I'm not quite sure, but I think both are on the Ford site. Could be wrong, though. I really like this "One Ford" idea, though. Hopefully we'll get a FusionMondeo out of the deal, too.

#4, From what I understand, the current Fusion and Mondeos will be the last respective generation of either before Ford does a true worldwide midsize to replace both... though, their nameplates may remain in their respective countries.

#5, That makes sense. I did see that the next Mustang (2014?) will have global input, rather than just American, and it might get a four door option, too. :(

The first time I saw one of these on the streets I thought it was a redesigned Edge...in a way I guess it is since they both appeal to the same marketing contingent and boasts the same capability. If it sells, it sells I say...it's not like a couple of years ago where half of all the domestic vehicles seemed to be rebadges of others from different manufacturers and the industry suffered for it . In GM's case I still find it funny that Saturn and Pontiac bought it, seeing as how the G8 and Sky/Solstice platforms were actually unique. And it's funnier that GMC, which pretty much just sells chromed-out Chevy models, survives.
