I'm guessing this is a 1969 model in an approximation of Vert Charmille (Arbor Green?).

There was a hoarder/mechanic in my town with a couple of these in his yard along with about 18,000 Volkswagens. Most of them were scrapped due to rust.

#2, I knew a guy in the late 80's who also collected VW bugs, had a whole FIELD of them behind his place, was a nice side business for him back in the day when 70's vintage beetles were still common "student" or "first driver" cars and he could sell parts off them. Then, by the late 90's as the last of the uncared for ones on the road went away, he sold off his hoard as well.
