Yep, that's basically it

These did for Europe what the Chevy Vega did for North America, namely, scatter large pieces of themselves all over the road in the form of rust.....

Also, the wheelbase is shorter by 1 inch on one side of the car versus the other, a consequence of it's torsion bar suspension layout.

Upon unveiling, the automotive press took to calling the car "The Pear" on account of it's general shape. As the tendency to rust became apparent, it earned the even worse nickname, "The Rotten Pear". It wasn't on the market too long before Renault stepped up production of it's successor model and quietly swept the 14 under the rug. Well, they actually swept it off to South America where it was built for a few extra years, but you get the idea.

The wheelbase trick also applies to the Renault 5 as well.
