#2, I remember an Intrepid with NH plates came into our shop, with the brake rotors so worn out, there was no braking surface left, just the cooling vanes inside the discs were left. And, they were disintegrating so fast that both sides of the car had orange "bow waves" of rust from the front fender arches back.... The shop foreman said "you don't have to have this fixed here, but if you refuse to replace the entire brake system on this car, I refuse to let you drive it out of here, and I'll have it towed to the next place" That's how gob-smackingly unsafe it had become. A case of "Live Free, Or Die, If you're in front of me"
