I can't quite explain it, but I look at a mid '80s Chevy Celebrity or Malibu, and think, "Wow, that's boring as shit"... but then look at a car like this, which has extremely similar design language, and think, "Wow, that's kinda handsome for its era..."

It's not even like I'm a Ford person... Ford has always been third for me amongst the domestic brands, behind Mopar/AMC and GM. (Yes, I kinda group the histories of both Mopar and AMC in my mind, regardless of them being separate for most that time)

#1, Maybe I'm weird, but I look at a facelift Crown Victoria of this generation and find it to be rather bland next to the knife-edge earlier ones. My favorites are still the pre-facelift Grand Marquis. And I still have a weakness for the GM A-body. Personally I find the Celebrity Eurosport to be a decent looking, if uninspired, design. Same with certain years of the Cutlass Ciera and one particular year of the Pontiac 6000 STE thatsitsinmygarageinpiecescollectingdust.
