I wonder how far off road can you go with this kind of suspension travel?

#1, Depends on the conditions. Baja buggies are designed primarily for open desert and sand dunes, but over more uneven, unyielding terrain I can't imagine they'd be too useful.

#2, When it comes to baja, all my (limited) knowledge comes from From Dust to Glory and a couple of internet videos (aaaand DiRT 2). I'm thinking this particular one might be just for show, I found this picture of a 'real' Baja Bug: http://volkswagenw.com/wp-content/u...g-side-view.jpg
That's quite a lot of suspension travel. Anyway, I'd kill to have a chance of running in that race.
