I still don't understand how adding Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis or even Betty Boop to anything old makes it cooler.

Also, who puts a sunroof in a 1959 Rambler?

#1, It harkens back to the '50s, for people who didn't live in the '50s.

Personally, I'd go for an airbrush of Joseph McCarthy, Charles Starkweather, or Juan Peron. You know, just to confuse everyone.

#2, Had no idea who the second guy was... after Googling/Wiki'ing... I wish I still had no idea who he was.

#3, I first learned of Starkweather from the Billy Joel song "We Didn't Start the Fire". Incidentally, all three figures are mentioned in the lyrics, as are all the people from my original comment except of course Betty Boop.

#4, He pretty much covers the entire 1950s in that song. Perhaps an airbrushed mural of a baby with birth defects from Thalidomide would be appropriate?

#4, I listen to that song a LOT... but many of the lyrics just run together, and I never bothered looking them up...

#5, That line definitely sticks out. Makes me kinda depressed when I hear it.

Also, am I the only one that, for ages, always mistook "Bardot" for "Bob Dole"?
