Description:
Plymouth Road Runner

The coke-bottle fuselage body style gets no love. I don't think that's because it's ugly, I think it's because it takes the blame, unfairly, for the fact that by the time it was unveiled, the days of consequence-free stock high-performance were over.

Had they come along earlier when they didn't have to rely on emissions-choked workaday 318's, they'd be remembered fondly.

You could still get pretty decent 440s in these, though for '73 and '74 they only came with the 727 Torqueflite.

:D. Nice. I'm pretty sure AutoWorld does a small scale version of this. :) Neat find :)

#2, Yep: http://autoworldgarage.com/wp-conte...ner_Spoiler.jpg

I'm not too familiar with AutoWorld die casts, but it looks pretty good. I may be getting into 1:64s now (I ordered five Tomica Limited Vintage models off of eBay), so I might give 'em a shot.

#3, Nice. :) Been into 1:64 for as long as I can remember, but I recently started getting into cars I had when I was a little kid. I asked for a bunch of 1990s-era Matchboxes and I have gotten more than a few recently. :)

#3, I dig that. Auto World 1/64s are hard to find out my way. Walmart sells them, but they don't sell them if you know what I mean. Every time I come in it seems like it's always the same few cars.

#5, Same here, at work they seem to sell out fast.

I absolutely adore the over the rear-quarter panel/over the roof decal package on these... always have. That is all.

...about to head out to Walmart... I may head to one of the larger ones and see if they have a better selection of toy cars... I'll still be going to the toy car section of a store when I'm in my 70s and 80s, I'm sure.

#8, +3

But I'm not a fan of the stripe across the roof. Its taking something cool a bit too far.

#3, Those Tomicas came in today, and I'm a little disappointed. Although the detail is fantastic and I do appreciate that all of them are models of cars I wouldn't be able to get in any other form, they don't seem all that well-made, especially for the $17-$20 apiece going rate. Apart from the cheap-feeling plastic chassis and windows that move in their frames, one of them actually has a steering wheel broken off, that rattles around inside the car.

#12, Simple, just overnight some [teeny tiny] parts from Japan.

#13, They're in fine condition, other than one having a detached steering wheel. They just aren't of the quality I was expecting. In fact, the quality of their construction and materials is equivalent to the Johnny Lightning MFP AMX I keep on top of my TV...which I believe is a much cheaper model (DiRF can confirm their going rate, he bought it).

#15, IIRC, it was about tree fiddy.
