Something I'm curious about....I read a book once that said that they stopped putting the 396 (402) in the Chevelle after 1970, and replaced it with the 375 horse LS-5 454 for the '71 and '72 model years. Can anyone verify this? It sounds right, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm seen '71 and '72 SS396 Chevelles.

#4, Of course, today I know that the 396 (402) was dropped for 1971 in favor of two different 454s, but then brought back in 1972 to replace the less powerful 454.

#13, It's this thing that existed in a time where people did a thing called "reading" which was believed to have been popular before television, which was popular before the internet.
