3.2L Boxer-6. 700-900hp (depending on boost) @ 8200rpm. 453lb-ft.
Porsche must build their blocks stronger than Fort Knox to take that much boost and still be reliable enough for endurance races. |

Oh, and this just goes to show an outrageous body kit isn't always a bad thing. |

#4, Just what I was getting ready to say... I liked that car even better than the 962.
And -- he says proudly -- I *earned* all my cars rather than use that cheat that came out... :) |

#6, I believe so. And I can't get the stupid 996 4-wheel drive cars to handle worth a darn. Basically, I just cheat and run the game as a time trial kind of thing. I do best on most tracks with something like a 964-series Turbo with all the power adders. I have the throttle and brake mapped to separate joystick axes so I can simulate using both at the same time, allowing me to keep the car under control under braking. And I love drifting 'em like crazy. |

Yeah, the 4WD cars can't corner worth a shit. One of my favorites was the Carrera 2... it turned like it was on rails.
As for my least favorite, that would be a toss-up between the 914 and the 944. Ugly, slow, and sluggish... how the hell did those things get the Porsche nameplate? |

#8, The 914 is a joke. The 944 is front-engined, so at least it can be made to handle fairly neutrally.
As for the 996 Carerra 2, those are good, too. Put some slicks on it, heavy sway bars, and the biggest supercharger you can find, and you can really get one of those moving. And if it understeers too much, cut the throttle back and use engine braking to kick the tail out. |

Thing is I'm used to drifting the cars around corners, which the 944 will not do, unless you pull the handbrake (something I don't like doing.)
I actually find the newest cars (the 993 Turbo, 996, and GT1) almost too fast... I spend the race in a constant near-panic, like the car's going to crash any second. |

#12, I find it a bit nerve-wracking.
If I want to crash into stuff I'll play Rallisport, or GTA3. |

I have to admit, though, the crashes in that game can be quite spectacular. Have you ever managed to damage a car to the point that it wouldn't run anymore? |

#18, It's a fun game just because it's one of the only decent PC games that I've played that lets you customize your cars to such a degree. The handling model is decent at approximating a tail-heavy car, and it can be pretty challenging to drive them--the 4wd Porsches push terribly, and the RWD ones (especially with engine mods) get really unbalanced under lift-throttle. |

Lemming, you ever tried Sports Car GT? It lets you tune like mad. Almost requires a wheel and pedals, though. |
