#82, HP=torque*RPM/5252. The biggest deficiency of the first-generation 4.6 was its lack of overall HP (because of breathing problems) and its relatively late torque peak. My point was that the current-gen 3.8, which weighs less than the large modular 4.6, has an earlier torque peak and proportionately wider powerband, and nearly as much peak HP as the early 4.6. Thus, a car with a Split Port 3.8 would actually be a close match to a 94-98 GT in terms of acceleration.
Also, I don't mind the wheels too much. They wouldn't have been my first choice, but you get used to them after a while. I don't think replacing them would be worth the money involved, although they do look a little silly since there's so much empty space around them. The car rides high. |
