it is awesome. but before you buy, make sure you can watch Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring on your PS2 before you buy this. LOTR FOTR is a dual layer dvd and some PS2s can't play it. if you can watch LOTR FOTR on your ps2 you are good to go. if you can't sorry

#3 it is turn based but with no random battles. you can see the enemies and avoid them but when you fight it is turn based. i repeat: IT IS AWESOME

#5 hope you like REALLY LONG cut scenes. they can last up to 45 minutes. but most of the time you are given a chance to save before them in the middle and after them. PLUS you can skip them. i don't recomend skipping them unless you have seen it before. they tell most of the story.
don't let the cutscense scare anybody away. they might be long, but IMO they are the best cutscense i have ever seen. it gives you a much better feel of the story.

don't let #6 scare anybody away from the game. the cut scenes add to the game IMO and all the reviews i have read in game magazine said that while they are long, they are awesome. if you are not sure about it do what #5 is going to do. i didn't rent it first, but that was because i have beat Xenogears on the ps and loved it and couldn't wait for this to come out.
for anybody that loved Xenogears, some fo XG's development team also worked on this
