A Tach with a shift-light, yet it's automatic. Hmm...release the acceleration and hit it again? Ack. |

i guess they shift it manually so a) they won't have to learn how to drive a manual b) it gives the appearance of having a manual c) they don't ruin mom's car. |

I have 2 gauges in my Silvia: an oil temp and boost pressure readout. I actually need those though since I'm pushing my car to the limit a lot. You shouldn't need to look at a tach either...shifting should be done by ear. |

I was just going to say that, anyone who's a competent stick shift driver does it completely by sensory feedback, you just know from the sound of the engine, and how the car is handling when it's time to shift, the tach is sort of a luxury, 99% of stick drivers out there could keep driving if you unplugged it |

My Ranger has a 5 speed and doesn't even have a tach At ALL... the original owner ordered the truck with no tach but got the options of Gadges instead of dumby lights.... he was a weird guy |

I use the tach in my bro's lumina just to know the engine's running. they make these things so quiet, i've seen people try to turn it over again after the car's on. |

Ha, but this is obviously a gauge. Anyone dumb enough to buy a look-a-like shouldn't drive. |

The driver of this thing is a poser. Why else would he have that huge tach on there?
My old Tercel didn't have a tach at all... but I could shift gears just fine :) |

lol shifting by ear ehhh :) well when yer shifting up around 6800 and the engine is deafening its kinda hard by sound. thats why the shift light was made but it was intended for muscle not ricers |
