#1, Uhm, yeah, of COURSE you saw a hardtop one...seeing as there were only 3 NON-hardtop ones ever made.

I saw a hardtop Beretta also...like I do EVERYDAY...it's not like they're rare or anything.

#3, well it was issued as a Pace Car edition - just no convertibles. The Pace Car convertible ones also had the 3.4L

I saw one on my way to mall yesterday..the pastel green/blue paint and the Pink letters saying "official Pacecar" kinda stood out to me ;)

#11, IIRC, Olds Cutlass convertibles of the early '90s had those roll bars also.

Failed side impact tests IIRC. Back in 1990, Chevy did a whole lot of promoting this. The Indy 500 was the publics first view of it and it was supposed to be introduced in the summer. Chevy even discontinued the Cavalier convertible for one year in anticipitation of it but alas it was not meant to be. I believe only 4 were made, a prototype and these 3 pace cars. I heard rumors that they are stashed away in some GM warehouse in the desert somewhere.
