Description:
Repost of one of the best pictures I've taken, hopefully I'll be able to retake this picture with my new camera with a wider lens, to get the top of the Prudential in there. I still love it.

#38, The Nikon brings the 18-135 lens, the XTi comes with the same 18-55 from the XT, I think. Prices have been droping for both the D50 and D70s, they are atleast half the price of the D80. The differences mostly lie in the ISO and exposure speeds, and megapixels of course.

#41, Exposure speeds? That really doesn't seem like a deciding factor. My camera is between 1/4000th and 30" and bulb. Doesn't seem like you would need anything faster than 1/4000th unless you're using a lens faster than f/1.4. And 30" is more than enough for long exposures unless you're using crazy neutral density filters...Plus, you always have the bulb function. More megapixels help, but it doesn't make too much of a difference. My Digital Rebel, 6.3 megapixel did fine. The only reason I stepped up to an XT is the high end ISO performance. The XTi is definetly better in that area. Unless you're shooting weddings, or pro sports, I can't see justifying more than 10 megapixels, and even that's a stretch to me. These point and shoot cameras coming out that have up to, what, 12 megapixels? It's a waste. In what circumstance is someone going to need 12 megapixels on a point and shoot. Most point and shoots are used as something to take snap shots with...Continued.....

Having tons of megapixels ends up wasting a lot of hard drive space. That is assuming people are shooting at the highest quality setting. It just seems very very unnecessary to me.

I can find good deals on equipment if you're looking for some. Everything I own is used. Let me know.

I don't use max MP settings, I never use anything higher than 3MP. I've been really wanting to opt for the cheaper D50 with the Nikon 18-55 and 70-300 lens, I'm probably going to be shooting pics of still cars and the occasional event at the auto-x/drag strip, people and other non-car events.

Speaking of Prudential I have to ask you guys for advice. They want to hire me as one of their Life Planners. They tease with high (possible) salaries. I am worried by the pay being purely comission based, needing an endless list of contacts to get the job done and, well... technically being always at work. I need the money and I want the money but I have never sold anything to anyone and I'm scared that once my contacts dry up, I'll be left with ZERO income. Also, I do not want people calling me 24/7 356 days a year expecting a meeting in 20 minutes. Thoughts? Any experience any of you have had with Prudential LPs? Or being one?

#47, I interviewed to be a Life Planner once (I can't remember the company, but I don't think it was Prudential). My understanding was that all the meetings would be requested by potential customers, and the LP would be sent out to speak to them personally....no "cold sales." Pay was to be commission only, but I was assured that sales were generally easy enough that I'd be able to make a living.

Anyway, I didn't take it because I got a TV job at around the same time. Plus, a few other negative factors: I'd have to wear a suit all the time, I'd have to take a course and pay for an insurance sales license (about $250 in the state of Mississippi), and the guy made a mention of my Rambler, which I had driven to the interview: He said that as long as it's not beat up, it's okay to be seen in, but he encouraged me that a newer car would offer a "more professional appearance." Fuck that.

#48, I turned it down. I was given a customer portfolio list to fill with names and stuff like yearly income. They promised good money, but no stable income (they assured me sales were easy after the training as well) and no regulated working hours. I mean getting a call from a customer @ 10 p.m. on Sunday or during my time with family or during a rally: fuck that. I support hitmen: never take your job home is a good rule to follow.

#49, Yeah, when I was unemployed, I looked into being a door-to-door salesman (I'm not kidding)... they put me into training with about 80 other people... completely comission-based... they could have hired a thousand people, and their home-base operating costs would have been about the same... it felt like such a crock of shit.

My current job... yeah, I clock-in, clock-out, go home, and I don't have to worry one iota. The hours are a bit wonky... (6pm-6:30am, 7 shifts every 14 days, on an alternating schedule)... but I've got a three-day weekend every two weeks, and days off in the middle of the week, too. The overtime bumps up my paycheck a fair amount, and the benefits are generous. :D

#50, And what do you do for a living these days? I'm still with the ATV dealership/shop/garage thing. The boss is a total douche, a stupid one at that. Like an adult school bully. One of the things that drive me up the wall is the fact that he will ask you completely random questions about a job you've just finished. He keeps asking them until there is one you cannot answer or can only answer 'no'. What the fuck? If you ask me 50 times even if my ass is split down the middle I won't be sure in the end and will have to double check. Plus, he treats his employees like trash, that actually extends to his wife as well. He seems to have some sort of retardation that makes him think only he and his problems are real, the rest are just faint farts out there to annoy him. Only people with cash get some modicum of respect, at leat until he verifies they really have the cash.

#51, The dangerous situation here is that we both have explosive tempers. I am on the verge of saying what I think about his behaviour: that will quickly turn into a yelling match and Police will be involved for sure. I might end up in hospital, he is bigger than me (and I'm not a small person, mind you).
That, and a female co-worker in a pathetic whining bitch, emotionally unstable, usually ill, always complaining she works the hardest and get paid the least. You know what? Fuck off, it's not my fault I get paid more. At the same time she's very quick to jump up and tell the boss if you slip up "I told him so!". Oh, and she is sooooo sensitive and quick to take offence... she can really make you dislike women, belive me.

I'm a receptionist/information clerk at a detention facility... It's had its ups and downs, but, overall, it's a job I can do and live with.

#53, Now I've applied for a administrative/fleet management/warehouse management job for a Polish contruction company in Belgium. I had to go to Warsaw for the interview (that's 650km there and back), they should call next week.
