He hasn't gotten it tuned yet (it's running excessively rich), but seems promising.

Anyone care to guess what the turbos were sourced from?

#2, No. Something that only would've had one turbocharger, on a small motor (T25s are not really suitable for larger engines unless you've got more than one of them).

#4, That was easy, wasn't it? Yeah, two turbos sourced off of 2G DSMs. Probably not that expensive, considering the DSMers are always trying to get rid of those things.

#6, See #1, above. Untuned and bogs out before it even hits 3000 RPM, due to excessive rich condition (the car's computer is not designed for the mass air sensor he's probably using, and will need recalibration/tuning). Still, should be decently quick.

ed: I just find it fairly amusing that somebody got around to TT'ing one of these. Myself, I'd rather have a single turbo, possibly T3/T4 hybrid.

But the potential is there, and some of the guys running centrifugal superchargers are seeing 13s or better. This kind of setup is actually more typical of a junkyard TT setup for a 5.0; I'd rather not speculate on how long a 3.8 would last like this (although, then again, I don't know how much boost he wants to run and what he's got for engine internals).

I wonder exactly how much this cost to do, though--turbocharging kits are expensive for any car, but it's likely to be far cheaper if you can get decent used parts and piece it together yourself.

ed: I mean, you can probably get (judging by Ebay and DSMtrader) T25s for less than $200 a pop in good condition, complete with integral wastegates. From there, I suppose it's a matter of coming up with a way to oil them, sticking some shorty headers on backwards, and fabricating tubing (well, plus you'd probably want an IC).

#18, Not bad, considering it's really a fairly rudimentary setup. He's got a manual boost controller operating the wastegates on the T25s (the turbos the 2nd-gen DSM guys hate having), a pair of cheap Bosch blow-off valves, and an intercooler. The headers are pretty basic, and the AC had to be removed to allow the pipe to be routed. It also appears that he's deleted all the EGR crap for even more clearance. Obviously larger injectors and a fuel pump, too.

Overall, though, this is a pretty straightforward junkyard turbo kind of project--it's pretty much the most basic setup that still gets the job done.

#19, Oh, also--the car has a 3000-stall torque converter (automatic trans. obviously), and he's seeing full boost by 3500 RPM. Holycrap.
