Hey... I just noticed it: isn't it a Toyota Soarer?

#1, No. The Toyota Soarer is a coupe that was sold in America as the Lexus SC300/400... this car is a rebadged Toyota Celsior.

I still think the 1st-generation LS400 is a very aesthetically pleasing design... they totally got everything about the design right... I think it still looks fantastic today... all succeeding generation Lexus LS's never quite got the styling right again... real shame.

My aunt had one of these when I was little....a white one with gold trim. I never liked it much....I always thought it felt as tacky as it looked (though the latter was mostly due to the aforementioned brightwork).

Ok, yeah, gold Lexus trim has always been an abomination.

#7, ANY gold trim has been an abomination.

#8, Not true. For example: Princess Leia's bikini had gold trim.
